In general,

  • If not provided, seek clarification from the Chair of the Search Committee about what will be expected of you.
  • Use an outline slide at the beginning.
  • 50 mins tops.
  • Always include a section on "Future Directions," clarifying how what you do now relates to the future (a separate chalk talk may not be expected or attended). Make sure to leave enough time for this (10-15 minutes).
