Perfectionism is very common in high achievers, and Harvard is full of perfectionists surrounded by other perfectionists. In some ways, it’s what helps them achieve. But after a point, it can become very limiting and hard to change, even when people know it holds them back.

Hugh Kearns will help us deal with this problem. His workshop, which emphasizes a selective perfectionism approach, will cover subjects such as:

Recognizing perfectionistic behaviors
The pros and cons of it
How it impacts your research
Understanding the psychology behind it
Specific strategies
Coping with mistakes and setbacks
