Future of Research Symposium - "How Many Grads / Postdocs?"
The Future of Research (FOR) symposium is organized by postdocs for postdocs with the mission of addressing critical challenges affecting the biomedical research enterprise through seminars and moderated discussions. The results from last year's FOR symposium are summarized in this F1000 Research article. This year's three day event will be hosted at Boston University and focuses on challenges within the biomedical workforce, including how to collect accurate data on graduate student and postdoc career outcomes. Thursday and Friday's events will involve panel discussions identifying some of the challenges in collecting and decimating accurate information about career opportunities and outcomes. Saturday will be an interactive hackday event to identify ways in which early career scientists can help in addressing some of these challenges.
