This experiential learning course introduces participants to the foundational entrepreneurial and business concepts needed to transfer technologies from ideation to a viable commercial business opportunity. Specifically, this intensive 8-week accelerator course takes participants, working in teams, through the entire product development and commercialization process with an emphasis on lean venture creation currently being used by the National Science Foundation Innovation Corps. Through the course, participants will apply course concepts toward ideating, building, and “pitching” a novel start-up proposal to a panel of experts in the space. Course participants will build transferable skills such as communication, leadership, team building, ideation, and the process of testing and validating potential market- ready business opportunities. Further, participants will gain exposure to the vibrant start-up ecosystem of the greater Boston area (and beyond).
