Black in Academia, offered in partnership with SEAS and the Harvard Black Graduate Student Alliance (BGSA) is an event dedicated to amplifying voices of Black scholars to share their research, career story, and offer advice to students interested in pursuing opportunities in academia. This conversation will also touch on what allyship within the academy looks like for our panelists, and discuss what institutions can do to create space for and best support future Black scholars.

Panelists include:

  • Evelyn Hammonds, Ph.D., Chair, Department of the History of Science, Barbara Gutmann Rosenkrantz Professor of the History of Science, Professor of African and African American Studies, Harvard University
  • Dave Louis, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Educational Psychology & Leadership, Texas Tech University
  • Diedra Wrighting, Ph.D., Executive Director ADVANCE Office of Faculty Development, Northeastern University

This conversation will be moderated by Alexis Stokes, Assistant Dean for Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging at SEAS.
