DESCRIPTION:<p><span style="font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: large;">Are you mentoring or planning to mentor an undergraduate in the laboratory or field?  The Life Sciences Education Office is offering a series of winter/spring workshops for postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and other researchers who mentor or seek to mentor undergraduate researchers. Topics include research funding available for undergraduates, writing letters of recommendation, developing research projects with undergraduates, handling potential challenges, and the undergraduate perspective.</span><br><br><span style="font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: large;">Workshop Dates:</span></p><ul><li><span style="font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: large;">Monday, January 25, 2016 - Recommendation letters &amp; undergraduate fellowships</span></li><li><span style="font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: large;">Tuesday, February 9, 2016 - Developing research projects with undergraduates</span></li><li><span style="font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: large;">Wednesday, March 9, 2016 - Handling challenges &amp; celebrating achievements</span></li><li><span style="font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: large;">Friday, April 8, 2016 - Panel discussion with undergraduate researchers</span></li></ul><p><span style="font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: large;">Participants are welcome to attend individual workshops or multiple workshops.  Participants who attend all four workshops will be recognized with a certificate of achievement.</span></p>
